Pokemon

Ethan and Aidan LOVE Pokemon cards. We have been using them as incentive and rewards for doing things around the house, being kind to each other, listening to their parents, etc. We also found a Pokemon app on the iPad recently, which has added to the fervor. The spend at least an hour a day, pouring over their cards, trading, talking about them, and doing what they can to earn more.

P.S. Don't you love Aidan's collection of pens, pencils, and highlighters on his shirt?

Uh. Oh.

Kaitlyn has a new pastime - turning on the faucet in the tub. This evening, she found a ladle in the Tupperware drawer, and this is what I found her doing:

P.S. Earlier today I couldn't find the remote control for an hour. I finally found it, in a kitchen cupboard with the cupboard doors closed. And so we begin the antics of a toddler...

Kaitlyn and Aidan were watching Baby Mozart. She looked so relaxed and content I just had to take a picture.

Couch Climber

Last night, Kaitlyn learned how to climb up onto the couch. She practiced over and over and over...

Cute Pictures of Extended Family

Awww, Auntie Brooke, cousin Sierra and Kaitlyn

Dinosaur Park

We went up north last week to visit family. On the way up, we stopped in Ogden at the Dinosaur Park. The boys had a really good time. (Ruth met us there.)

Both boys kept making weird faces when I would point the camera toward them. This was the best one I got of the two of them together.

A Rocky Rocky

Kaitlyn loooves her rocking chair. She loves to stand up on it and rock. Yes, it's frightening. And cute.

Roller Skating/Blading

We have a new roller skating place in Cedar City. I purchased a 50% off gift cert on cedarcity.com, so we took Ethan's friend Gabe, and I even tried it. The three boys brought their own rollerblades, and I rented skates there. The boys did an amazing job! I hobbled along for a while, and then decided I just had to let go of the side. I ended up going around 8 or 9 times, but the boys would go around at least 4 times in the time it took me to go around once.

Swimming Lessons

The boys had swimming lessons a few weeks ago at our new aquatic center in town. On the last day, they got to go down the waterslide. They were both timid and a little scared at first (Ethan especially), but after they went down once they were so excited they wanted to go again. I love watching Ethan's reaction when he enters the water...

Sleepy Girl

I love walking into Kaitlyn's room when she is sleeping and this is what I see:

Beautiful Dress

Mom found a steal of a deal at the D.I. She bought Kaitlyn a Laura Ashley dress, with the tags still on it, for three bucks. Yay! I tried to take pictures of her cuteness this morning, but as usual, she was on the go, go, go. Most of the pictures were blurry because she wouldn't stay in one place. But I got two pretty cute pictures, and couldn't decide between them, so I'm posting both.

Cedar Breaks and Brian Head Peak

Yesterday we went up to Cedar Breaks National Monument. It was 72 degrees there (92 in Cedar City).

Kaitlyn, playing in the dirt. She's a natural (at playing in dirt). One of those hold-out-the-camera-and-take-your-own-picture pictures. Then we attempted to go up to Brian Head peak. I say "attempted" because we got stopped by a huge snow drift. On July 2. The park ranger said they got 31 feet of snow at Cedar Breaks this year. (Average is 15 feet.) Yikes.

Vacation to Moab, Part Three

When we first arrived at Jennifer & Al's house, Kaitlyn was terrified of Duke. She would cry if he would walk by her. (Of course, she would be looking UP at him.) But by the end, they were best friends. She would even walk up to him and pat his chest. Awwww.

This video was taken just as she decided she might kind of like him.

Immediately after this, our camera stopped working. So we didn't get pictures of the Canyonlands Needles district, or the cool stuff I bought at Wild Roses, or ANY pictures of Jennifer OR Al. Sheesh.

I did fall madly in love with their satellite tv system. I saw all sorts of tv shows I have heard of in blogland but never seen. The one that stands out the most is I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant. The show is just like it sounds. Wow. Just wow. Christian says we can get satellite tv if we get a dog. I guess I will be tv-less for a while longer then.

Vacation to Moab Part Two

One night we stayed at Red Cliffs Lodge. They have these really cool cabins that have two bedrooms and a nice kitchen/living room area. I'm pretty sure this was the boys' favorite part of the entire trip.

Kaitlyn in the kitchen/living roomThe boys in their bedroom. They had their own tv (the cabin had three tvs). They were SO excited to be able to watch cartoons while laying in their bed.Swimming in the pool (they swam Saturday night and Sunday morning)The view from the pool. Happy sigh. The Colorado River is right off the back deck of our cabin. Tranquil, and a little scary (since it is so high right now).
Happy baby, happy ChristianWe went to Sunday brunch at the restaurant at the lodge. Soooo good. Anyone want a sausage?
