Kaitlyn developed a problem with her right thumb called "trigger thumb." There is some kind of bulbous tissue that couldn't pass through a tendon in the base of her thumb, which meant that her thumb was continually bent, and couldn't straighten. We took her to a hand specialist, who told us that surgery was necessary.
She had her surgery on June 7, and it was a relatively simple surgery. She didn't even need an IV anesthesia. They wrapped up her hand, and told us to keep it dry for two weeks. Yeah.
She is generally acting right handed, so it was tricky for her to eat with her left hand for a while. Notice the mess on her cheeks as she missed her mouth a few times.
This picture was taken 10 days post surgery. It is healing well, and now that it has been 15 days, she should be able to get it wet and use it normally once again.
