Piano Recital

My piano recital with all of my students was last night (I have 10 students not including Ethan and Aidan). I haven't done lessons on a very regular basis with Ethan and Aidan, but they are both on the last song in level one. The day before my piano recital (Wednesday), Ethan decided he wanted to be in my recital. So he learned and memorized "Good King Wenceslas" in one day! Here's the video of him playing:

Kaitlyn's Six Month Checkup

Kaitlyn had her 6 month doctor's appointment this morning. Here are her percentiles:

weight: 17 lbs, 10 oz (79th percentile)
height: 27 inches (87th percentile)
head circumference: 43 cm (64th percentile)

She is doing really well. Yesterday I fed her sweet potatoes for the first time. She LOVED it and eagerly ate the entire container. She rolls all over the place. She squeals and makes high-pitched screams when she laughs (neither boy did this - is it a girl thing?) She is such a sweetheart and we LOVE having her in our family!

Halloween

We got lots of candy from the trunk or treat. And I just ate Smarties. I dressed up as a knight. I did the slide, the big slide (at the carnival). And I also did the trampoline. It was fun. And we had a good time going trick or treating (to a few neighbors and ward members). And we also had a hot dog. And we got lots of candy.

Love, Aidan

I had a good time at Halloween. It was fun. We got SOOOO many treats. I ate lots and lots and lots. I hope I don't get a stomachache. I dressed up as a ninja. I had a really good time. And I hope all you guys had a good time too that are reading this blog. See ya.

Ethan's Bluegill

I think I just caught the biggest bluegill in the world! I went fishing with my dad, and we had a really great time there. We went to Sand Hollow. I liked it. Dad and I caught around 40 bluegill and three bass. I had a fun time going swimming, but it was freezing cold.

Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins was fun. I liked it. The shape of my eyes were parallelogram. His name is Grandpa That's Gone Mad.

Mine is called Booger Nose. And I like it, and we're going to put a candle in it, and it's going to be so fun because we get to carry it around and it's going to light up.

Rolling Over

I was just playing King's Corner with the boys, and Kaitlyn was laying on the floor. She rolled over, all by herself, to her stomach, played for a couple of minutes, and then rolled back over to her back. Both directions, all by herself. And she's only four months old! Wow!
I borrowed a Bumbo chair from my friend Jennifer. Since Kaitlyn is always trying to sit up, I figured I would see how she liked being able to sit up on her "own." (Don't you love those little toes?)

As you can see, she loves it. Unfortunately, I had to give it back to Jennifer after only four days because my boys decided they needed to sit in it whenever Kaitlyn wasn't sitting in it, and I didn't want them ruining a chair that doesn't belong to us.

Next time I go to St. George, I will have to purchase a Bumbo chair! (I read online that they sell them at Target.)

Another One

Kaitlyn has two new favorite things right now: puckering her lips and sticking out her tongue. Oh, and drooling (but that's not new).

Jump Rope and Schedules

Yesterday we pulled out the jump ropes. The boys have had them for months and never played with them (I don't know why). They were obsessed! They spent at least an hour outside, trying to break their record of how many jumps they could do without stopping (Aidan is at eight, I believe, and Ethan is at 22). They were so excited, and I had to make them stop to come in and get ready for bed. Ethan took his to school today to jump at recess. He was so excited he decided to make a "schedule" for every day of the week...although he only had time to write one day's schedule down:
I don't know if you can read it. This is what it says:

Schedule for Monday

breakfest - 15 Mi
School - 7 hours
Jump rope - 30 Minutes
Playing Legos - 22 Minutes
Sleeping - 12 Hours

It sounds like his Monday schedule is set!!

Four Months

Today, Kaitlyn had her four month doctor's appointment.

Weight: 15.6 lbs (95%)
Height: 26 inches (greater than 95%)
Head circumference: 40 cm (50%)

They said I could start her on solid foods any time (but I don't think she's ready yet so I will hold off for a bit). I also talked to them about her head, how she's always looking toward the right and her head is a bit lopsided. They said it is a bit of a concern, and gave me a referral to a physical therapist in St. George to have it looked at. But they also suggested that I could try to be more diligent in trying to keep her looking to the left side. She also got three shots and took the oral rotavirus one.

I tried to take a picture just now but the camera battery is dead. She sure is a cutie though!

Aidan's First Day of Kindergarten

School was fun, and I really like it so much. And I play with my friends a little. And tomorrow we get to do pictures taken. And from school I got to do some things and I got this zero hero necklace. I made two books about Chester (a raccoon) who loves school. Mrs. Brunson is my teacher. Madalyn and Josh are my friends. Riding the bus is fun too. I sit by Ethan and Gabe (on the way to school), and Madalyn (on the way home).

Love,
Aidan

Ethan's First Day of School

The first day of school was real fun. And my teacher is really nice. Her name is Mrs. Gallis. I did some fun stuff on the first day of school. Like doing some fun papers and stuff. We going to have a science unit about all kinds of stuff. Our first one was about insects. I brought a stuffed animal praying mantis. We only read for three minutes. I did not like that (because it wasn't enough time).

Strong Stomach Muscles

Starting yesterday, Kaitlyn decided to start trying to sit up. Whenever she is in her chair, she tries doing this:
Other cute pics: (this first one reminds me of my baby pictures Mom. Does it look like me?)
