Kaitlyn has been taking one or maybe two steps for a couple of weeks now, but for the last two days she has taken four, five or six steps. I finally got some on video! (Please disregard the pile of laundry in the background...) :) (P.S. Birthday posts will follow sometime in the near future.)

The Birds and the Bees
As part of Aidan's bedtime routine, he likes to ask Christian questions. Stuff like, "Where does electricity come from?", "How do stars disappear?" and "How does food get made?"
Last week, he had already asked Christian a couple of questions, and at this point, was just stalling his bedtime as much as possible. Christian finally said, "Okay, let's do one more quick question."
Aidan said, "Hmmm... Okay! How are babies made?"
Christian said, "Well... that question takes a while to answer, so I'll just say that when a mommy and daddy love each other, they make a baby. We'll talk more later."
~~~~~~~~~~
Last night, Aidan said, "I know how people get married."
Christian said, "Oh, yeah? How do they get married?"
(I was sitting there thinking, oh boy.)
Aidan said, "You get a piece of spaghetti, and each person sucks on one end. When you get to the middle, you are married!"
~~~~~~~~~~
Today, at lunch:
Christian: "Can you marry your sister?"
Aidan: "No! She's way too young. She's not 20 yet."
Me: "But can you marry her when she is 20 or 25?"
Aidan: "Yes."
Christian: "No, you can't. You can't marry your family at all."
Aidan: "Why not?"
~~~~~~~~~~
Ethan's Baptism
Ethan was baptized last Saturday. What a special day!
We had a luncheon before the baptism (the baptism wasn't until 4:00 PM).
I asked Ethan to tell me how he felt on his special day, and this is what he said:
We had a luncheon before the baptism (the baptism wasn't until 4:00 PM).
Today is my baptism day. My dad baptized and confirmed me. I felt excited, a little nervous at first. I had a warm feeling when I was confirmed. I feel good about my decision.
Three of my grandmas were here. (Nana, Grandma Ruth and Great Grandma Vicki.)
It feels warm when you are inside the font, but when you get undressed, it's cold!
Love, Ethan
Cutie
Kaitlyn was hamming it up for the camera last night, and we fell in love with her all over again.
Ethan's Birthday
Today is Ethan's 8th birthday. The whole family picked him up at school and took him to lunch. He chose A&W. (He had never been there before, but a friend had talked it up and he was excited to try it.) After Christian got home, he opened presents.
He is very excited about his new mountain bike.
Then we ate dinner (chicken piccata and green beans), and dessert (lemon cake and Snickers ice cream), and now he and Aidan are playing Lego Star Wars on the Wii.
Fun birthday!
Easter Day
The Easter bunny came this morning. Yay!
We also dyed eggs today, and after church, we took turns hiding them around the house and finding them. We didn't take any pictures of that.
Ethan had his interview with the bishop today, in preparation for his baptism.
For dinner, we ate sausage/cheese/egg casserole.
We also discussed the true meaning of Easter with the boys.
It's been a great day!
Walking With a Little Help
Kaitlyn is so close to walking. She has taken one step, two different times, all by herself. And she really likes this toy:
Double Birthday Party
To make things a little easier on myself, I decided to do a birthday party for both boys at the same time. Ethan invited his two best friends, Gabe and Logan, and Aidan invited three people - Madelyn, Ashley and Eric (yes, that's two girls and a boy).
I filled a bunch of plastic eggs with candy and hid half of them inside, half of them outside. They had a blast looking for all of the eggs.
Then the boys opened presents. This is Ethan's best friend, Gabe. He is a week and a half older than Ethan (as you can tell, Ethan is just a little bit taller than him). They will both be baptized this weekend!
This is Aidan's best friend, Madelyn. I told them to say cheese and Madelyn pulled this pose. Such a cutie!
Then they all decorated cupcakes (no pictures, I was too busy helping them) and then time was up! Fun was had by all.
Aidan's Birthday
Aidan's birthday was on the 14th. He got golf clubs (which he was so excited about). He keeps calling himself Tiger Squirrel Aidan Wimmer. Tiger, because he wants to be the next Tiger Woods. Squirrel, because when you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up, he replies, "A squirrel."
He also got a fishing pole.
And, of course, he got his chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream.
Pictures
Ethan got a haircut last night, and I decided to take pictures this morning to post.
Notice how his black eye is getting a little better.
Then I decided to take a picture with both boys together. So handsome!
Then I decided to get a picture with all three kids together. Although Kaitlyn would have nothing to do with it...
Notice how his black eye is getting a little better.
