Aidan's Birthday

Ethan and Aidan woke up at 7:00 this morning, and quietly went into Ethan's room to play with Legos.  Christian and I were very appreciative of this, because Kaitlyn was up much of the night because she doesn't feel well (cold #4 in the 10 weeks we have lived here).  They came in and woke us up, and I looked at the clock and realized it was 8:20, and we had to leave at 8:40 to get to Ethan and Aidan's soccer games.  Oops.  So, we quickly ate breakfast, and had Aidan open one present (a stuffed hedgehog), and then Christian took them to their game (I stayed home with Kaitlyn since she wasn't feeling well).  They both did well in their games, and then Aidan told Christian he wanted to go garage saleing afterward, so they went and found a few items (dart board, stuffed animals, a bed tent) for $2.00 total.  When they got home, Aidan opened presents.

He just realized there is a Skylander in the wrapping paper.  He was excited, even if the picture doesn't look like it. (He is also excited about the comforter Grandma Ruth gave him.)
A prism, which he proclaimed was "the best present EVER."  ($4.50 on amazon.com, folks.)
Having fun on the beach towel Nana gave him.
His chosen birthday cake was Pioneer Woman's chocolate sheet cake.  And chocolate ice cream.  He has said many, many times that this is the best birthday ever.
After lunch, he took the $20 bill Grandma Jenny gave him and went to Wal-Mart with Christian and purchased two new Skylanders.  Too bad our Portal of Power is broken and he won't be able to play the game until Monday, when the new piece arrives via UPS.  For dinner tonight, we're eating what Aidan calls "crispy chicken" (aka sweet & sour chicken), and tonight he, Ethan and Christian are having a campout in the basement.

Happy 7th birthday Aidan!  We love you!

It's so cute what kids think is the "greatest" thing ever. How fun for him to have such an awesome birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIDAN from me, even though he doesn't know me:)

Happy birthday Aidan!! So glad he had fun and got to go to the awesome Lego exhibit! We had some botanical gardens that sound very similar in Albuquerque. It was connected to the Rio Grande Zoo and Aquarium and we had season passes there. We really miss it!

Skylanders? I've never heard of them, thank heavens. The last thing the Ellsworth boys need is something new to collect. We're already up to our eyeballs in Pokemon, Bakugan, Halo figures, and Legos.

It looks like a great celebration for Aidan. Happy Birthday!
