First grade was fun. I had three recesses. They were long. I played a fun Star Wars game. I had chicken nuggets and green beans, and chocolate milk and some kind of juice drink/orange tangerine, it didn't taste very good. A few friends brang lunches, like Jack. I sat by Jack at lunch. It was fun.
We went everywhere in the school, except for the teachers' classes. The library, gym (P.E.), into the cafeteria before we ate lunch. We also went to music just to see it.
We watched a little show about books. We read one.
I have homework. I have to write my name and mom has to write about how I got my name.
My favorite part of the whole day was the cafeteria.
It seemed like a half day of regular kindergarten. My bus stop was the first bus stop, so I guess I'm always going to be first! I'm on bus 77. Jack is on 89. That is the least favorite part of the day.
I like first grade. Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.

Yeah Ethan! I'm glad you like first grade. I'm happy you had such a fun day. It is nice to have a friend to sit by at lunch like Jack. Nice "Star Wars" shirt, you rock! Your homework sounds pretty easy for you. You can already write your name! I think mom will have more work to do than you tonight :)

Nana is so happy that you like school! It sounds like you had a blast.
I loved school so much that I didn't miss even one day of school from kindergarden to sixth grade!
